About the publishing house

Since its birth in 1995, Alarcón, Barreto y Asociados editorial group has put in the market some of the most influential technical magazines from Spain to this day.

InfoMarine, the first magazine published by the group in 1995, about news and technology in the naval and maritime industry, InfoPower, whose first issue was published in 1997, covering news and technology about production and effective usage of energy, and InfoEnviro, in the market since 2004, specialized in news and technology of the environmental industry, have positioned themselves since their first issues as leaders on their respective sectors in the Spanish market of technical publications while enjoying great international renown, a position they keep holding nowadays.

As a complement to their widespread coverage, InfoPower and InfoEnviro magazines have pledged their commitment to provide the industry of efficient and sustainable use of energy and the industry of recovery, recycling, waste management and valorization, respectively, with two unique contests: PowerExpo, Ecobuilding y ExpoRecicla.

In 2009 the stock-buying process of Alarcón, Barreto y Asociados, started in 2004 by Grupo Informa plc, the world's largest specialist in academic, scientific, professional and commercial content, comes to an end. Quoted in the London stock market, the group employs 8,500 people in 43 countries, having 150 operative units and more than 120 different business lines.

Since June 2010, the three magazines have joined the structure of iiR Spain, also belonging to Grupo Informa plc, leader for more than 20 years in the development and management of contents and events for companies.

This new structure opens up new ways of development and growth for these three leading magazines, thanks to the existing synergies between iiR Spain and the Grupo Informa plc matrix.


About the magazine

Since its birth in 1997, InfoPower has been specialized in the coverage of news and technology about production and efficient usage of energy, positioning itself since the first edition as one of the leading technical publications in the Spanish market, while achieving great international renown, a position it holds to this very day.

InfoPower is a monthly magazine that edits 10 numbers per year, covering a wide array of subjects, from the production of energy by both conventional sources (mainly gas through combined cycle technology) and renewable sources (wind, biomass, marine, geothermal and, of course, solar, having a special section on every issue called InfoPower Solar), cogeneration, trigeneration and district heating and cooling systems, to the most up-to-date news such as efficiency and sustainable transportation and mobility -specially the electric vehicle-.

On top of including technical articles about all these subjects as well as the last developments and news in equipment, products and systems of the energy industry, along with market reports grouped by technologies and activities, InfoPower offers a unique product: our exclusive "Plant Reports", reports of recently inaugurated plants (combined cycle plants, cogereneration plants, district heating and cooling systems, thermoelectric solar plants, wind farms and biomass plants, among others). These "Plant Reports" are a complete technical description of the plants, with exclusive colour pictures and a summary in English that constitute a unique product that other magazines of this sector don't offer.

In other news, since the beginning of 2010 and due to its eagerness to adapt to the new times, InfoPower has published its own fortnightly newsletter, essential for an up-to-date look into the energy industry.

InfoPower's labour doesn't end with the magazine: it also participates in the industry by organizing events such as the Power Expo contest and its biennial Technical Conferences.
